PRAYING FOR OTHERS

Ephesians 6:18

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

The Bible teaches us that we must value each other above ourselves - Philippians 2:3. Many of us have embraced a selfish lifestyle in our prayer lifes; this stems from a selfish heart that always puts “Me” in front of everything. You only do what you feel, you only listen to the friends you like, you only pray for those you feel endeared to. This is a straight turn from what the bible says.

We have been called to not just do what we feel, or pray for those we like, but pray for all in the body of Christ. WE DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE WHO DESERVES OUR PRAYER, GOD DOES AND HAS!

So next time you are on your knees don't forget to pray for the guy you passed by on the subway, or the lady selling fruits; in this we will be building a heart that cares for others and dessicate our selfish tendencies.

PRAYER

God, we commit our families, our friends, our loved ones and the entire body of Christ into your hands. We pray for our providence, strength and wisdom in all these places. Give us the stretch to fulfill what you have called us to do.

In Jesus name, Amen
