Mirror Mirror Mirror Me

Isaiah starts as of in chapter 6:5 with a lamentation, he says, “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” What had Isaiah seen that made him conscious of a new aspect of himself? We all love the comfort of non-judgment or the peace of judging yourself from among yourselves. Herd mentality has been more prolific now than ever, we would rather put God on bench and embrace our own standards of morality, identity and thoughts of grander. The reality is very much far from that, anyone who lives without eternal consequences has no eternal bearing, a life without eternal bearing is an unaccountable life, if your life is unaccounted then you ultimately do not count.

Let us not be afraid to look up at God’s holiness, let us pursue it vehemently. We should not live in the illusion of safety and moral satisfaction just because we walk with our heads down. God is gracious to us just as He was gracious to Isaiah. He will not leave us to surfer in our lament but he will purify us just as He purified Isaiah’s lips.

Purify us Jesus and give us the boldness to walk with our heads gazing into your holiness. May our lifestyle be a reality of your holiness and your standards, Amen
