RELATIVISM The Poisonless Poison

Each Century has had its fair share of intellectual and philosophical arguments. Many of these arguments were critical, but not all were essential. In our current day and age, we face the mother of all these arguments, Relativism.

It is no secret that in 2026 many would very much avoid conflict with there friends, family or workmates rather than addressing it. This has lead to a majority who would either pull back from having discussions because they foresee friction, or others who would simply accept what the other party is saying because they foresee friction.

Most people believe that staying silent and not speaking around others prevents them from being viewed as dumb or incapable, while the remaining half believe they must speak at all times and exert their dominance in every subject and on every matter. This manifests as Pride in its raw form.

Relativism has crept into society not only through those who prefer to agree with everyone to avoid friction, but through all categories of people. Relativism has evolved, serving not only as a tool for peace but also as a means to mobilize masses under one banner.

The main question, however, is: why is this UNBIBLICAL?

Well, I don’t like beating around the bush, so let’s get right to the core of the matter.

The Bible speaks of one God in three persons, one Creator and one Sovereign Ruler. Now, how does this relate to Relativism? Let’s examine the details.

Relativism is essentially accepting multiple calls of truth as Truth, with individuals believing in a truth that is subject to the truths of others. In other words, they believe what they believe is just as complete and valid as what others believe. We don’t need to analyze this deeply to see the flaw in the approach. All you have to ask yourself is: What is Truth, and who determines it?

Truth that is dethroned by the winds of time and shifting opinions was never true to begin with. This is a simple concept—if something was TRUE yesterday, why would it become False today? And here we are not talking about things that are constantly changing in our lives, but about TRUTH in relation to belief and faith.

What many fail to acknowledge is that for a belief to be TRUE, it must be observed not by someone whose point of view is constantly changing and is influenced by time, emotions, feelings, friends, and foes.

TRUTH is that which is observed and revealed by God, who is unchanging by time or circumstances, and who does not need any new intelligence.

The acceptance of Relativism as a philosophical stance for Christians is hypocritical and, frankly, lazy. Our TRUTH has already been defined by the Word of God; it is infallible, inerrant, and most importantly, THE WORD OF GOD.

Let us not be swayed by the tides of time or by the convenience of avoiding conflict. Instead, in pursuance of purity of heart through Jesus Christ, let us walk and act in every conversation not in Relativism, but in the ETERNAL TRUTH we have in JESUS CHRIST.
