Reflection
The troubles of this world; what we need to do, objectives we need to accomplish, may seem fierce and impossible at points, especially when the battle is between our worldly desires and the desires for the kingdom of God. David reminds us through this psalm that our strength should always come from God. It is not enough to just have a desire to please God, but we must take steps towards enacting and executing that desire.
We have been made new through Jesus Christ. Our boldness, confidence, and resilience no longer come from ourselves but from God. Who He says we are, who He has called us to be, and potentially what He wants us to do. We ought not to exalt ourselves in our own achievements, but rather in humility work in faithful stewardship “to each according to their calling”. Let us walk in the strength and power of true “sonship” in the full imputation of the righteousness of christ who lifts our head up high.
PRAYER
Thank you Jesus, for the strength, power, and presence you have graced us with. We pray that you may help us to always look to you for confidence, boldness, resilience, and peace. Even though we might be surrounded by work, school, and financial burdens, we cast all these things to you and rest in your presence. We have faith in you, that you are our shield and protector.
In Jesus name, Amen
