Verse Annotation

Verse 1 -2 - We pray only to the true King and God

Verse 3 - 6 - No evil survives in the presence of God, neither the arrogant, those who tell lies, nor those who do wrong.

Verse 7 - We do not come into the presence of God by our own strength but by the love of God

Verse 8 - 10 Let us come to God in authenticity, expressing our feelings and experiences honestly because He already knows them. Whether it be a call for protection against those who afflict you or if you feel disappointed by your family or friends, tell it all to God

Verse 11 - We who are righteous through Jesus Christ ought to walk with boldness and awareness that God has spread His protection over us. We no longer walk and work in fear but in boldness, authority, and power coming from the Holy Spirit.

Reflection

There is a tendency to want to present before God a polished product; the perfect human. Truth is, God already knows how we feel, whether we are mourning or rejoicing, sad or happy, energetic or down. We don’t have to put on a mask or a fake act when we are talking to God. Be real with God. If you have a workmate who makes you want to scream in the office, tell that to God. If you have a boss who makes you wanna throw staples, tell it to God. It is important that we do not get used to a false character whenever we talk to God. Now the Bible teaches us to pray not only for ourselves but also for those who wrong us, so even as we are being real with God during our prayers, let us be sure to pray for our enemies

Consistency in prayer is paramount, especially when we are angry, depressed, or down. We must walk in boldness and authority, knowing that Jesus has imputed His righteousness to us. This same righteousness grants us protection and blessings from God. So let us pray daily and communicate with our Father, the giver of protection and life.

PRAYER

Thank you Jesus for your love and mercies over us. We pray that you may help us to bring all those who have wronged us before you with no exception. We pray that we may not harbor any ill thoughts towards those around us, grant us the strength and grace to forgive them, just as you have forgiven us. We are not afraid of their attacks because you protect us and bless us continuously. Thank you LORD

In Jesus name, Amen
